Vantis Forge

One workspace, three ways to reach it.

Your own API keys, your own chats. Vantis Forge runs in a browser, on your phone, and as a real Windows application — the same account and the same work in all three.

What it is

A workspace for building with AI models on keys you control. Chats live in your account and follow you between devices, so starting something on a laptop and finishing it on a desktop is the normal case rather than a feature.

The three surfaces

Web — the way in

Open it and sign in. Nothing to install, no security warning, works on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. This is the fastest way to see whether Forge suits you, and the right choice on any machine you cannot install software on.

Android — the same thing, on a phone

Open Forge in Chrome and choose Add to Home Screen. It gets its own icon and launches full-screen with no browser chrome, like any other app. Same chats, same account.

Desktop — the full version

Windows. Everything above, plus the part that needs a real machine: it can read and write files on your computer, point at a project directory, and run commands there.

What only Desktop can do

Why the browser cannot do this. A web page has no way to start a program on your computer — not by permission, but by design, in every browser. Forge Code is built on running real commands in a real repository, so it needs an application rather than a tab. That is a property of the browser, not a feature waiting to be written.

Which should you use?

Desktop, if you can. It is where workspaces and Forge Code live, and it is the version the product is built around. Use Web when you are on someone else machine, on macOS or Linux, or just trying things out — and Android when you want Forge in your pocket, where there is no project directory to miss anyway.

Currently in beta. The Windows download is live but not code-signed yet, so Chrome and Windows will each warn you before it runs — the download page says exactly what you will see and what to click.
